In recent years, we saw many traditional lenders exit the business, leaving longstanding dealer clients with limited floorplan options. The remaining options were often higher-cost, less flexible and more bureaucratic than their previous floorplan provider.
As the third generation involved in the auto auction and used car market, we frequently heard the frustration from our dealer customers and colleagues. We decided to apply our knowledge of the industry and customer service focus to providing a floorplan option that truly viewed the dealer as a partner. Our guiding goals were simplicity, flexibility and reasonable cost for the dealers.
With those goals in mind, we launched a pilot program that offered tailored floorplan solutions to a small group of dealers. Based on the positive feedback from those dealers, we decided to expand the offering to dealers in the Chicago, northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin markets.
